Print journalism is an extensive process that consists of various different components in order to create the final product. I am interested in the interviewing aspect of print journalism. I find gathering information and getting to meet new people and hear what they have to say intriguing. I also find the process of building the magazine itself interesting. After taking time and effort into gathering information, taking pictures, and putting them together for a final product gives feeling of satisfaction. I believe that I can bring photography skills to the table. This would make the magazine more suitable for me because photos are such a large component of magazine's. I also have experience with graphic design software, which should make this selection easier for me. However, I do struggle with writing and coming up with content to talk about. This will be the most challenging factor for me in creating a magazine.
Our product plans to engage with our audience by keeping them up to date with recent sports news. Sports are one of the most popular, celebrated, long-lasting traditions within the United States. By informing our audience of the latest sports news, this will want them to keep up with each publication. Then by having the information as local, the makes locals want to read about what is happening the southern Florida, since it's their home. Also, including a featured player on the cover engages with the audience. Especially, within schools, this makes teenagers want to engage more with school athletics when they have a star athlete feature on the covers of magazines. Some other parts of the magazine that some people may not notice aids in making the reader engage is the design of the text. The text was intentionally made to stand out with the beveled effect and drop shadow, which draws the readers eyes directly to it.
